- Phase I: April 8-9, it covered assembly elections in Assam, Kerala and Puducherry.

Highlights of Phase-I: Assam, Kerala and Puducherry-
In the first phase of IEVP 2026, the event was a combination of the orientation and an exposure phase, where international delegates were introduced to the Indian polling system before going for live polling.
- The programme covers the Legislative Assembly in Assam, Kerala and Puducherry with 43 delegates from 20+ nations, including foreign mission representatives.
- The representatives also took a tour of the dispatch centres to see logistics management for the polling materials and other preparations on Day 1 (8 April).
- On Day 2 (9 April), the actual polling took place, where they observed the voters queue, management system, operations and voting process.
- In Assam, foreign delegates paid a visit to the polling centres with more focus on the EVM handling and control system.
- A group of 38 delegates from 22 countries visited the voting centres in Thiruvanthapuram (Kerala) for mock polls, then real voting and a mirrored standard itinerary for assembly voting.
- Nine delegates from different nations attended the orientation organised by the District Election Officer and a visit to EVM polling centres.
IEVP 2026 Phase-II Highlights (April 22-23)-
Phase II of the IEVP 2026 programme begins in late April 2026, comprising 43 delegates, including international IDEA representatives from 23 nations, including five foreign mission representatives of Delhi.
- The event was launched on April 21 by the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, with other officials, where the delegates witnessed the demos of EVM and VVPAT.
- They also attended the briefings and experienced the mock poll to get an overview of electoral processes in India. Moreover, the activities such as security, queue management and post-poll sealing, like in Phase I, were observed during this period.
- On 22 April, the foreign delegates travelled to West Bengal and Tamil Nadu to observe the pre-polling preparations. On the following day, they participated in polling activities at the voting centres and witnessed live polling activities.
