Dharmendra Pradhan launched IndiaSkills 2023-24 in New Delhi

The Union Minister for Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan launched IndiaSkills 2023-24 program and honoured the WorldSkills competition (WSC) 2022 winners.

What is IndiaSkills 2023-24?

IndiaSkills 2023-24 is a skill development competition that aims to create a workforce that is not only educated but also filled with skills needed in the job market.

IndiaSkills will serve as a stepping stone to the WorldSkills competition. Winners at the national level in IndiaSkills will get the opportunity to participate in the global event, WorldSkills.

WorldSkills Competition and India’s Performance in WSC 2022-

WorldSkills competition is a biennial competition which is organised by the WorldSkills International. It has 86 member countries including India. India joined WorldSkills in 2006. Setting a global benchmark for vocational skills, this competition assesses workforce excellence on an international scale. Participants from diverse industries and academic backgrounds showcase their global talent and expertise.

In WSC 2022, India achieved its highest ranking, 11th position, in the competition, securing 2 silver medals, 3 bronze medals and 13 medallions for excellence across 50 diverse skills.

Conclusion-
