Sewa Parv 2025 is being celebrated as a pan-Indian festival of service, creativity, and cultural affinity between 17th September and 2nd October 2025 under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. This is a first-of-its-kind initiative concentrating on Sewa as the highest form of patriotism, motivated by the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

The Parv connects communities, institutions, and individuals through various cultural activities, service-oriented programs, and other forms of artistic expression. It embodies the underlying tenet of “Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi” — a synthesis of development with heritage.

Objectives of Sewa Parv 2025-

The Sewa Parv is initiated to create a people movement for cultural pride and social responsibility. Its major objectives are as follows:

  • Inspiring a service-oriented civic cultural engagement; strengthening education  and pride about the heritage and traditions of India; encouraging  inclusion by ensuring the participation of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and tribal communities; 
  • Promotion of artistic creativity through works, workshops, and sharing of knowledge; fostering national integration and responsibility towards national development.

Theme of Sewa Parv 2025-

This year’s theme is:

 ‘Viksit Bharat ke Rang, Kala ke Sang’ (The Colours of Developed India through the Language of Art) highlights the role that creativity has with culture in developing India’s developmental story.

Major Highlights of the Art Workshops – 30th September 2025-

On 30 September 2025, the Ministry of Culture organised art workshops at 6 major centres where many students, artists, and community leaders came together.

Shimla, Himachal Pradesh – Ridge Mall Road & Gaiety Theatre:

Organised by: Lalit Kala Akademi.

Among the dignitaries were:

  • Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla (Governor of Himachal Pradesh) – Chief Guest;
  • Shri Jai Ram Thakur (MLA) – Special Guest.
  • Dr Nand Lal Thakur (Vice Chairperson, LKA).
  • Focus: Integrating the vivid natural context of Himachal with creative expression.

Kurukshetra, Haryana – Kurukshetra University & Multi Art Centre:

Under the auspices of the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC):

Attended by:

  • Prof. Somnath Schdeva (Vice-Chancellor, Kurukshetra University)
  • Shri Dharvir Mirjapur (Chairman, Haryana Pashudhan Board)
  • Focus: Large-scale joining of students and involvement of academic strength with cultural vibrancy.

Bhubaneswar, Odisha – Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre:

Organised by: LKA RC Bhubaneswar 

Attended by: 

  • Padma Shri Binod Maharana (Famous Pattachitra Painter) 
  • Participation: More than 600 students and artists. 
  • Focus: Reviving the rich tradition of painting in Odisha through hands-on guidance.

Thrissur, Kerala – Vadakke Brahmaswam Madham:

Organised By: IGNCA RC Puducherry with LKA RC

  • Attended by: Shri P. Parameswaran and Shri Sreekanth.
  • Focus: Emphasis was placed on traditional Gurukula learning spaces as spaces being developed to foster creativity and spirituality.

Papum Pare, Arunachal Pradesh – Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills:

Organised By: IGNCA RC Puducherry with LKA RC

Attended by:

  •  Shri P. Parameswaran and Shri Sreekanth.
  • Focus: Emphasis was placed on traditional Gurukula learning spaces as spaces being developed to foster creativity and spirituality.

Dimapur, Nagaland – Stone Sculpture Garden:

Organisers: NEZCC

  • Guest attendance includes Shri K. Therie, Shri Zasevizo Lhousa, and Shri Teisovikuolie Therie.
  • Focus is directed toward the encouragement of youth in preserving indigenous heritage in the form of sculpture and painting.

Digital Participation in Sewa Parv 2025-

One of the many measures the Ministry has undertaken to promote inclusion is digital engagement: 

  • Institutional Uploads: States, UTs and cultural institutions upload their events at the Sewa Parv Portal.
  • Citizen Contributions: Individuals upload their creations, photos and cultural expressions.
  • Social Media Participation: Using the hashtag #SewaParv, citizens can share their creative acts of service.
  • Branding Materials: Publicity content will be made available online to download for the benefit of participants.
